赵文子冠

赵文子冠,见栾武子,武子曰:“美哉!昔吾逮事庄主,华则荣矣,实之不知,请务实乎。”

见中行宣子,宣子曰:“美哉!惜也,吾老矣。”

见范文子,文子曰:“而今可以戒矣,夫贤者宠至而益戒,不足者为宠骄。故兴王赏谏臣,逸王罚之。吾闻古之王者,政德既成,又听于民,于是乎使工诵谏于朝,在列者献诗使勿兜,风听胪言于巿,辨祅祥于谣,考百事于朝,问谤誉于路,有邪而正之,尽戒之术也。先王疾是骄也。”

见郤驹伯,驹伯曰:“美哉!然而壮不若老者多矣。”

见韩献子,献子曰:“戒之,此谓成人。成人在始与善。始与善,善进善,不善蔑由至矣;始与不善,不善进不善,善亦蔑由至矣。如草木之产也,各以其物。人之有冠,犹宫室之有墙屋也,粪除而已,又何加焉。”

见智武子,武子曰:“吾子勉之,成、宣之后而老为大夫,非耻乎!成子之文,宣子之忠,其可忘乎!夫成子导前志以佐先君,导法而卒以政,可不谓文乎!夫宣子尽谏于襄、灵,以谏取恶,不惮死进,可不谓忠乎!吾子勉之,有宣子之忠,而纳之以成子之文,事君必济。”

见苦成叔子,叔子曰:“抑年少而执官者众,吾安容子。”

见温季子,季子曰:“谁之不如,可以求之。”

见张老而语之,张老曰:“善矣,从栾伯之言,可以滋;范叔之教,可以大;韩子之戒,可以成。物备矣,志在子。若夫三郤,亡人之言也,何称述焉!智子之道善矣,是先主覆露子也。”
