Bamboo Book Chronicle

"Bamboo Book Chronicle", also known as "Ji Mound Chronicle", a part of the bamboo slips unearthed and sorted out in the ancient tomb of Ji County in the Western Jin Dynasty, the style belongs to the chronicle style, called "Chronicle", generally known as "Bamboo Book Chronicle". "Bamboo Book Chronicle" is an ancient history book that was not allowed to be found by tomb robbers in the second year of Taikang in the Western Jin Dynasty (281), and it is a chronicle of history. Because it was buried in the tomb of King Wei Anli (one said to be King Xiang of Wei), it was able to avoid the book-burning campaign caused by Qin Shi Huang's book order. It records important historical events from the Xia Dynasty in the era of legends to King Xiang of Wei (one should be the King of Wei Ai).

The bamboo book was already scattered as early as the Han Dynasty. During the Western Jin Dynasty, the tomb of King Wei in present-day Henan Province was excavated, and the tomb robbers were arrested, and at the same time, a large number of bamboo slips in the tomb were unearthed. At that time, the country attached great importance to this matter, Emperor Wu of the Jin Dynasty ordered Xun Mian, Zhongshu Ling and Qiao to be responsible for translating bamboo slips (because the Wei script and the small seal of the Qin State are quite different), the length of the bamboo slips is two feet four inches in ancient times, each Jane has four crosses, and there are thirteen articles, starting from the Yellow Emperor, after King Zhou Ping moved eastward, the Jin Dynasty was used, and the Wei Dynasty was used after the three families were divided into Jin during the Warring States Period. During this period, there were many political disturbances such as the Eight Kings Rebellion, and the secretary Cheng Weiheng was killed while engaged in the "examination of the correction", which greatly hit the progress of the collation, and was continued by Wei Heng's friend Zuo Shulang. In the end, the responsible officials sorted out the part of the historical records and named it the "Bamboo Book Chronicle". The "Bamboo Book Chronicle" records many events between the Jin State and the Wei State, and this book is generally regarded as the history book of the Wei State.
